Welcome to our community, stories of a lifetime and the Genova Impact Investment Fund Community - more about this later. I would have put these stories into a book like most of my friends have encouraged me to do. But that would be quite boring...we want to engage, ask questions, share deeply and hear from each other. And all the while help each other onto different journeys to find purpose.

Born in January 1983, I have seen quite a few years, had some ups and downs, witnessed global events and picked a few lessons. And these are the stories i share.

But let me get to it. Why are we here on this page and in this community?

Could we together, collectively, merge our stories, experiences and sharing into one beautiful purpose? To Defeat Global Abject Poverty?

I have always been an investment enthusiast, Warren Buffet, Benjamin Graham and the like were my role models but Back in 2010 while doing my Masters in Banking and Investment Management, some thing happened - there was a unit called 'Financial Engineering' and wow, this to me was worth all my money for the course, taught by Mr. Malinga who was a Bank of Uganda executive, i saw how money moved in the system and the compounding effects, in a more practical way. Later, I landed on the book 'Give people Money' by Annie Lowrey discussing at length, the concept of Universal basic income.

These two concepts, 'Financial Engineering and Universal Income' led me to ask, could this be the answer to global poverty? And i think YES...if you create a fund, put together a great team of board members and good investment professionals, you can generate income. You can then enroll the poorest of the poor on a monthly stipend of just USD $10 for them to spend on the most pressing needs for a period of say 7 years...you will slowly drive out abject poverty.

But there is more, how do you generate investment capital and also maintain sustainability? Well, that's the gist of the idea, we wont be giving away the principal (the fresh money that comes in)...every coin that is brought in will go to our investment fund. When our Annual earnings come in, 50% of the income will go back to the investment fund, 45% will go to beneficiaries who will have been identified and enrolled and even given basic training; and then, only 5% will go to Administration.

But how shall we generate investment capital? We shall fundraise, we shall write proposals and ask for funding, But one of the ways is you signing up to this stories page. Every payment and contribution you make will go towards this fund. So you are not just paying to access the story, you are adding a brick to the fund and thus taking us closer to defeating the global abject poverty pandemic.
